Tarot cards have been in existence since the 15th century in Northern Italy. Some believe the images and symbolism on the cards date back to ancient Egyptian civilizations and the Kabbalah. The strange power of these ancient pictures have entranced people for centuries. Tarot card reading is performed by using a 78 card deck of picture cards and interpreting the cards position in their “spread” and the meanings and symbolism depicted on them to gain insight into past, current and future situations. Some Tarot readers are guided by a spiritual force while others believe the cards help them tap into a collective unconscious or their own creative subconscious. Believing our subconscious is more powerful than we are aware and that it “knows" the order of the cards. Others like the famed Carl Jung , founder of analytical psychology, who was a huge user of Tarot and I Ching believed Tarot works based on synchronicity, events that happen by chance but nonetheless carry meaning for the person for whom they occur.. Not a believer in spiritual forces, subconscious or super natural connections? That’s ok; Tarot reading has a more logical explanation that will demonstrate its value.
When cards are randomly dealt and appear in a totally random order interpreting them is still useful. Most people tend to analyze situations in a very logical fashion, based on a set of unconscious assumptions and on a very limited set of expectations and desired outcomes and therefore tend to only come to a very standard set of conclusions. This limits ones ability to fully understand situations and their Karmic lessons. During a Tarot reading the effort required by the Reader to fit the ‘random’ cards into a ‘meaningful’ pattern forces one to think outside of their normal limited mindset, and can lead to fresh ideas, insights. It forces one to use intuition to begin solving problems in new and interesting ways.
As a matter of fact many corporate management training programs have similar exercises designed to create an open minded approach to problem solving.
So how do Tarot Cards really work? That is a question posed for hundreds of years... Ask a Physicist to explain Quantum Mechanics, they will tell you what it does but they can’t explain why. It is a phenomenon, and yet it is accepted as part of the scientific mainstream, because all modern electronics are based on it.
How can I explain something that must assuredly be seen and experienced? Tarot Reading is also a mysterious phenomenon, yet more widely accepted, than most would admit. Sometimes I am speechless as to what occurs during some readings and I have no explanation for certain happenings. But they happen. In reality there are many questions science has yet to answer regarding time and space!
There are several types of "readings" or decks of cards that can be used to read. "Oracle "cards are especially designed to give messages regarding specific situations, relationship readings, life purpose etc... . Today oracle and decks of cards used for divinations come in all themes from Angelic to Animals. These should not be confused with traditional Tarot cards. Although some readers will use multiple decks, the art of Tarot is specific.
An authentic Tarot reader is someone who has studied Tarot and its meanings. This takes much time and effort to learn the symbolism as well as the meaning of each card and the importance of its position in a card spread. A Tarot reader must also know the history of the spreads of Tarot and the association of each card as it pertains to Astrology. Astrology and Tarot have corresponded for hundreds of years. The most knowledgeable Tarot card readers will have some training in Astrology as well as traditional Tarot. In addition, Tarot readers are trained to use their intuitive ability to read the messages from the cards. It takes years of dedication and study to develop these talents, gifts and knowledge and put them together to be an effective and responsible Tarot reader.
Few people realize that what they flippantly call "fortune telling" or pass off as "nonsense" is an actual art that takes years of study, practice and discipline. A dedicated Tarot Reader uses the cards to tell a significant "story" for the "Querant" (which in Latin means "one who seeks") or person being read. This” story” is a life lesson of strength and weakness pertaining to the situations revealed. Tarot is meant to teach us through ancient wisdom how to become aware of these lessons and implement them on our life journey. Much the way astrology teaches us to master our world by building on our strengths to overcome our shortcomings thus find our passion and live our truth. Tarot cards are a divination tool used to make us see our personal truth and correct life path.
I have studied the history of Tarot, each of the individual 78 cards and their meanings extensively for several years. I have also done extensive research and education in Astrology. And I have spent many years working with mentors and spiritual teachers to tap into my inItuitive gifts to discern messages energetically. I believe the art of Tarot Reading is a positive and affirming way to learn about ourselves and become aware of wisdom
that we can use to shape our destiny. Many times during or after a reading my Querant will be emotional and have under gone a significant realization about their life and their path. Opening people to new life possibilities
and touching people in this way is very rewarding. When I am part of such a meaningful teaching/learning experience it confirms my own destiny. I am where I am supposed to be, working within the sacred space I‘ve created through years of discipline and dedication to this craft. I see people empowered through Tarot readings. Especially when significant messages come through from loved ones or guides. Every life changing reading motivates me to seek the wisdom needed to improve my Tarot knowledge and Intuitive skills even further so I can uncover the wisdom to change lives including my own.

This Blog is the story of the miracles, challenges and lessons of my life journey. Years ago when I hit a personal "rock bottom" my despair led me to seek answers and my quest for truth began. Amazing events propelled me on a spiritual journey of transformation.. Miraculously, through these experiences my life has become my teacher and my friend.... I hope my words connect us and allow us to walk together for a time as teacher and friend to each other. The most valuable thing we have during this human experience is our connection to love. The love in our soul for a higher power and others is the only thing that is real. I honor these connections through my writing. Theses words are my gift inspired through the heart of Spirit for you. I hope by sharing my journey it will enlighten, inspire and ease yours as it does mine >> ... Peace... Georgia Rose
